A Note from the Director:

In the words of the late, great cartoonist Charles Schulz: "I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos."

And we here at SAU Theatre glad you came by to say hello.

Much like with our first show of the season-Our Town-theatre is best when it leaps up off the page and onto the stage. And (to borrow a phrase) good grief, does this show leap!

You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a living, breathing, singing-and-dancing version of Charles Schulz's Peanuts comics that hopefully you, your parents, your grandparents (and if you have them, your children) grew up reading in the newspaper. In it, we see ourselves reflected in the hopes, anxieties, and dreams of Snoopy, Lucy, Schroder, Sally, Linus (and his blanket), and the ever-determined Charlie Brown-and one little yellow bird to boot.

These characters sing, they dance, they wax philosophic, but they also share with us the keys to happiness in a time when we need it. And in a year where the underdog has had its day, there is no greater underdog to root for than Charlie Brown.

- Cason Murphy, Director

You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown is the second of a series of productions presented for SAU's 2016-2017 Main Stage Theatre Season. Following You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown is Dial M for Murder showing on Feb. 9-11, 2017 and Disney's The Little Mermaid April 20-23, 2017.
