Sha'Queta Brown receives a Leadership Award at SAU

Sha'Queta Brown was recently honored with a leadership award from Southern Arkansas University.

Brown is a sophomore Pre-Nursing (BSN) major from Douglassville, Ark., and was among students highlighted at SAU's 19th Annual Leadership Recognition and Awards for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Brown received the following recognition and award(s): Student Support Services Outstanding Student Service and Supplemental Instruction Leaders Outstanding Service Awards.

The Outstanding Service Award is being presented to members of registered student organizations who have given their time, energy, and dedication, and have contributed to the overall success of the organization and its goals.

The theme for this year's annual event stated that true leaders act with courage, stand tall in the face of adversity and go where few have gone before because they know that example is the greatest school of humanity.

One of the main goals of SAU is transform and build its students into leaders who are willing to make a difference in the community and make society a better place to live.
