Samantha Neal is going down in Southern Arkansas University's history books as winner of the 34th Annual Residence Hall Association Bed Races.

2014 Sep 16

Neal, a Biological Science major of Magnolia, Ark., raced to victory with four fellow Greene Hall resident at SAU's Family Day event on September 6, 2014.

Greene Hall triumphed over 18 other teams in the event. Teams participating at the Bed Race included resident halls, Greek associations and student organizations.

The RHA Bed Races is one of SAU's most colorful and unique traditions. It pits two teams of five on a narrow strip of road with decorated beds hoisted up on bicycle tires. Four members of each team push the beds at harrowing speeds while the fifth brave and helmeted soul holds on, wishing all the while he or she would have stayed inside to study.

Family Day is one of the first events each academic year on SAU's loaded activities calendar. Campus events not only offer students an exciting outlet from their studies and other academic endeavors, but they welcome the regional community and members of the Mulerider family onto campus.

The diverse academic offerings as well as the out-of-class activities provide SAU students with the complete college experience. To find out more, http://www.SAUmag.edu.
