Joseph Ben Walker takes home top student leader award at SAU

Joseph Ben Walker, of Texarkana, Texas, was recently recognized with several leadership awards, including the top individual honor of the evening, at Southern Arkansas University's Leadership Recognition and Awards Banquet.

Walker, a senior Biology Pre-Health major, was honored as the SAU Student Leader of the Year with The Vice President's Leadership Award at the annual banquet held on April 21, 2015.

Walker also was recognized with a coveted Mulerider Leadership Award and was given and Organization Service Award for his work as the Vice President of the SAU Student Government Association.

At SAU, he was a resident assistant and a member of the Biology Club, Chemistry Club, Pre-Health Club and Sigma Pi. He also was employed at the Mulerider Country Club.
