Joseph Atchison named Outstanding Undergraduate Business Student

Joseph Darden Atchison is Southern Arkansas University's David F. Rankin College of Business' Outstanding Undergraduate Student for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Atchison will be honored at the SAU Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017, for the Rankin College of Business and the College of Science and Engineering. To find out more about SAU's graduation schedule, visit https://web.saumag.edu/graduation.

Atchison is graduating with a double major in accounting and finance with a minor in economics. He is the third SAU graduate of his siblings and is from Texarkana, Texas.

While at SAU, Joseph has been a member of the President's Ambassadors, where he serves as treasurer. He served as a resident assistant and a supplemental instruction leader for Accounting I and II. He is a member of PBL/Enactus and won first place in Forensic Accounting at PBL Nationals. He is a member of the Honors College, a member of the SAU Finance Society, the Business Student Advisory Council and the SAU Accounting Society.

After graduation, Atchison plans to move to Tampa, Florida, in pursuit of his CPA license and to attend graduate school. He is the son of Bill and Christa Atchison.
