Gabrielle Davis wins SSS award at TRIO Awards Ceremony

Southern Arkansas University focuses on being student-centered, and Gabrielle Davis was recognized for helping lead that charge on April 12, 2016, at the annual TRIO Awards Ceremony.

Davis is a junior Political Science major from Magnolia. She received the Peer Academic Counselor of the Year with Team Study award.

Student Support Services (SSS) and TRIO are federally funded programs designed to assist qualified students in completing their post-secondary education goals. Each year, the SSS program recognizes students, tutors, and Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders who have excelled academically and have participated in the various SSS programs, including the Academic Enrichment Center, Supplemental Instruction, and a new initiative for 2015-16, Team Study.

The Supplemental Instruction Program also recognizes a faculty member who has promoted the program and encouraged their students to attend SI sessions. This year's honoree was Pablo Bacon of the SAU Department of Biology.
