Ethan Bolick a part of SAU's new disc golf team

Bolick Bolick, of Maud, has helped make Southern Arkansas University's new Mulerider Disc Golf Team the largest program in Arkansas.

Bolick, a senior Mathematics major, is part of the 2017 men's Disc Golf team.

"The team has been an amazing surprise," said Dr. Andy Peeks, team sponsor. "I am humbled by how well they are doing. Their progress has been so swift. In practically no time, they have become the largest disc golf team in the state and among the largest in the nation."

The team boasts 16 male players and eight females. The disc golfers also played a role in helping establish a complete 18-hole course on SAU's beautiful campus in coordination with SAU administration and the Mulerider Activity Center (MAC). The course winds beneath the pine trees and around manincured lawns surrounding residence halls and the duck pond. Discs can be checked out by students at the MAC, so it is a wonderful way for students to enjoy an outdoor sport at no cost.
