Elizabeth Mangus selected for 2017 SAU Homecoming Court

Elizabeth Mangus, of Texarkana, Arkansas, was recently honored with the distinction to serve on the Southern Arkansas University 2017 Homecoming Court.

Mangus is a senior University Studies major. Mangus is involved in Tri Sigma, and is Captain of the SAU Cheer Team, SAAC representative, Instructor for Mulerider Kids and Teen College, Team Study Leader, Mulerider Round Up Leader, and Freshman Seminar Mentor. Mangus was nominated by SAU Cheer.

Selection to the Homecoming Court is an honor. This year, 30 student organizations nominated two of their representatives to be considered for the Court. The nominees convened for a group interview with a committee of faculty and staff. Based on a point system that took into account GPA, an essay by the nominee, campus involvement, and the group interview, the nominees were narrowed down. Individual interviews commenced, from which the top 11 men and top 11 women were selected for the Court.

Mangus willl make several appearances with the rest of the Homecoming Court during homecoming week, and will be presented at the homecoming Mulerider football game at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at SAU's Wilkins Stadium. They will also represent Southern Arkansas University atop a float during the Magnolia Christmas Parade and the annual Celebration of Lights on November 30.
