Darby Taylor a part of "Dial M for Murder" production

2017 Feb 21

Darby Taylor, of Barling, recently played a role in the Southern Arkansas University Theatre production of the thriller, "Dial M for Murder."

Taylor, a junior Musical Theatre major, was the assistant set designer and part of the hair and makeup crew for the show.

The thriller, written by Frederick Knott and directed by SAU's Richard Vollmer, is a suspense thriller based on the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock film. An ex-tennis pro carries out a plot to murder his wife; when things go wrong, he improvises a brilliant plan B.

This was the second-to-last show of a series of productions presented for SAU's 2016-2017 Main Stage Theatre Season. The theatre's final show will be the big musical of the year, "The Little Mermaid," which will run April 20-22 at 7 p.m. nightly and at 2 p.m. on April 23 at Harton Theatre.

Southern Arkansas University offers Arkansas's most affordable Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts with studies in Musical Theatre and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts with studies in Theatre. SAU's BFA in Musical Theatre started the fall of 2015, and it entails a complete theatre and music curriculum based on the National Association of Schools of Music. The NASM is the national accrediting agency for music and music-related disciplines.
