Cody Burkhamappointed to the SAU President's Ambassadors

2013 Oct 9

Cody Burkham was appointed to the Southern Arkansas University President's Ambassadors for the 2013-14 academic school year.

Burkham is a Senior Political Science major from Hope, Ark., and is the son of Wesley and Glenda Burkham.

The President's Ambassador group, which was originally called the Student Foundation, has a rich history at SAU, according to the SAU Dean of Enrollment Services Sarah Jennings.

"The students selected to represent SAU as a President's Ambassador excelling academically and have a wealth of knowledge through their involvement at SAU," said Jennings. "They give tours, call prospective students, serve as ushers and guides for many events, and assist the Admissions Office. It is an honor to be an SAU President's Ambassador and we are honored to work with these students."

This year's group of 25 was selected through an extensive nomination and interview process, which included each giving a mock tour of campus. The group also functions as a student organization and is very involved on campus with student activities and volunteer work.

"The President's Ambassadors are an outstanding group and do a superb job of representing the University to a large variety of groups," said SAU President David Rankin. "They always receive wonderful compliments on their work and have been tremendously successful with the many tours they lead for parents and students who visit SAU."
